You want to start by first researching that the employer you are applying to is listed in the official U.K. government official list to ensure that they are licensed to sponsor foreign workers.   Avoid the urge to apply to just any company you come across that has a vacancy. Knowing the company you apply to is equally as smart as applying to multiple opportunities. You don’t want to waste time and effort on employers that do not sponsor foreign workers.  
Applying for jobs in the U.K. requires that you adapt to the U.K. CV and cover letter standards. This is the same encounter as with any other top tier country. In essence, your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications should match the job description.  Using a generic CV or cover letter is not advised. You only let the reviewer know how careless you are and you don’t want to do this as this might not get you the job. Take time to read through the job description and only provide details that match to showcase seriousness.
